Program Director

Thank you for your interest in our program. As you will see from this program description we are committed to providing residents with a diverse experience. The program in Emergency Medicine was established in 1983 and has always been a fully accredited program. We train 9-11 residents per year, for 48 months beginning at the PGY-1 level.

The Emergency Medicine residency is primarily a two hospital program with the majority of clinical experience at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Jacobi Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center). Our residents also rotate through Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center for Obstetrics and NYC Poison Control Center for Toxicology. Many electives at various institutions around the nation are also available. This diverse exposure to different clinical environments provides residents with a unique experience and preparation to practice Emergency Medicine anywhere.

The Emergency Department has full departmental status within the medical center and all of the faculty have appointments at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine.
